CMOgpt MCP for Claude
Connect CMOgpt to Claude and start asking questions about your Shopify store.
CMOgpt helps ecommerce merchants turn Shopify performance data into clear business advice.
When you use CMOgpt inside Claude, Claude can access your CMOgpt metrics, ecommerce benchmarks, business rules and advisory skills. This lets you ask plain-English questions such as:

CMOgpt is read-only and secure. Your store data stays connected through your CMOgpt account.
Choose the right version
CMOgpt-demo
Use CMOgpt-demo if you want to try CMOgpt with sample ecommerce data.
The demo uses data from a hypothetical Shopify store, so you can experience how CMOgpt before connecting your own store.
You do not need a CMOgpt account or Shopify connection to use the demo.
CMOgpt
Use CMOgpt if you want Claude to analyse your own Shopify store.
This version connects Claude to your CMOgpt account and your Shopify metrics.
You will need to sign up to CMOgpt and connect your Shopify store first.
Before you start
CMOgpt works with Claude on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans.
Claude Free users may be limited to one custom connector. If you are on the Free plan, connecting CMOgpt may use your available connector slot.
If you have already installed CMOgpt-demo and now want to use your own store data, uninstall CMOgpt-demo before installing CMOgpt.
1. Install CMOgpt in Claude
Open Claude Desktop.
Go to:
Customize → Browse plugins
Search for:
[ CMOgpt ]
To test the demo version, search for:
[ CMOgpt-demo ]
Choose the plugin you want to install.
Use CMOgpt-demo if you want to test with sample data.
Use CMOgpt if you want to connect your own Shopify store.
2. Connect CMOgpt to your store
CMOgpt combines your Shopify store metrics with ecommerce advisory logic and CMOgpt skills.
To use your own store data in Claude, connect Claude to your CMOgpt account.
If you already have a CMOgpt account
In Claude Desktop, go to:
Customize → CMOgpt → Connectors
Click Connect.
You will be asked to enter your Shopify store identifier.
This is usually your Shopify store domain, for example:
[ your-store.myshopify.com ]
Follow the prompts to complete the connection.
Once connected, Claude can use CMOgpt to answer questions about your store performance.
First, sign up here:

The setup process usually takes about 20 minutes.
During setup, you will be asked to:

Create your CMOgpt account

Connect your Shopify store

Connect any required data sources

Confirm your account settings
CMOgpt will then prepare your store metrics.
You will be notified when your Shopify metrics are ready.
After that, return to Claude Desktop and go to:
Customize → CMOgpt → Connectors
Click Connect and enter your Shopify store identifier.
If you do not have a CMOgpt account yet
If you are using CMOgpt-demo
You do not need to connect Shopify.
After installing CMOgpt-demo, you can start chatting with Claude straight away.
The demo uses sample ecommerce data.
3. Start using CMOgpt in Claude
Open a new Claude chat.
Start typing:
/cmo
Claude will show a list of available CMOgpt skills.
You can choose one of the skills, or simply ask your question in plain English.
You do not need to use exact commands.
For example, you can ask:
How is my store doing?
Where am I underperforming?
What should I do next to improve profit?
Is my marketing spend paying back?
Which metrics need attention?
Good first questions to ask
After connecting CMOgpt, try these first:
What is my store?
Who are my target customers?
List my recent orders.
Run my weekly business health check.
Where am I underperforming against benchmark?
What is my 90-day action plan?
4. Useful CMOgpt skills in Claude
When you type `/cmo`, Claude may show skills such as:
/cmo-health-check
Use this for a weekly business health review.
/cmo-diagnose-growth
Use this when you want to understand whether the store is growing well, growing with risk, or needs attention.
/cmo-diagnose-metrics
Use this when you want to drill into specific performance metrics.
/cmo-adjust-marketing-spend
Use this when you want to review marketing spend and decide whether to increase, reduce or hold spend.
/cmo-diagnose-contribution-margin
Use this when you want to understand margin, contribution profit and where profit may be leaking.
You can select a skill, but you can also ask naturally. Claude will use the relevant CMOgpt skill where appropriate.
You can disconnect Claude from CMOgpt at any time.
In Claude Desktop, go to:
Customize → CMOgpt → Connectors
Choose the CMOgpt connector and disconnect it.
You can reconnect later if needed.
5. Disconnect CMOgpt from Claude
Troubleshooting
I cannot find CMOgpt in Browse plugins
Make sure you are searching under Plugins, not just Skills or Connectors.
Search for:
CMOgpt
For the demo version, search for:
CMOgpt-demo
I am using the demo but want to connect my own store
Uninstall CMOgpt-demo first.
Then install CMOgpt and connect your CMOgpt account.
Claude says I am not connected to CMOgpt
Go to:
Customize → CMOgpt → Connectors
Click Connect and enter your Shopify store identifier.
My store metrics are not ready yet
If you just signed up to CMOgpt, wait for confirmation that your Shopify metrics are ready.
Once your metrics are ready, return to Claude and connect the CMOgpt connector.
