About CMOgpt
About the founders
The Profit Builder is CMOgpt's core feature — a decision tree that starts with Total Sales and maps every metric that drives or drains your profit. Rather than showing metrics in isolation, it connects them: your Average Order Value links to Conversion Rate, CAC, and Total Orders. Your Gross Margin links to Contribution Margin, COGS, and Shipping percentage. Your Repeat Ratio links to Purchase Frequency and the gap between a customer's first and second purchase.
Every metric shows its trend. Every metric links to the decisions that can move it. The result is a single, connected view of your business that you can actually act on — the way a CFO or experienced CMO thinks about commercial performance, not the way a dashboard presents raw numbers.
When you connect your Shopify store, CMOgpt places you in a segment based on your revenue tier and category. It then benchmarks your key metrics — including CAC, MER, Gross Margin, Repeat Ratio, and Contribution Margin — against other brands in that same segment.
This matters because "good" is relative. A 40% gross margin is excellent in one category and poor in another. A CAC of $35 could be healthy or alarming depending on your AOV and repeat rate. CMOgpt shows you where your numbers stand against your actual competitive landscape, not generic industry averages.
Yes. CMOgpt connects to your Shopify store through Shopify's official App Store integration, using the same secure, permissioned API that every Shopify app uses. We do not store your payment details, customer PII, or checkout data. CMOgpt reads your performance metrics — sales, orders, margins, and marketing data — to generate advice. Your data is never used to train shared models or shared with other brands.
CMOgpt tracks the full set of profitability-relevant metrics across five areas:
Revenue & Volume: Total Sales, Total Orders, Total Visitors, Average Order Value (AOV)
Margin: Gross Margin, Contribution Margin, Delivered Margin, COGS, Order Discount, Shipping %
Customer Acquisition: CAC, Contribution CAC, Marketing Efficiency Ratio (MER), MER-NB, Total Marketing Spend
Retention: Repeat Ratio, Repeat Customer count, Purchase Frequency, New-to-Repeat ratio, 1st-to-2nd purchase gap
Growth signals: New vs. repeat customer split, NB-to-RP ratio, Acquisition cost trend
Each metric is shown with its trend over time and benchmarked against your segment. GA4 integration adds visitor and traffic-source data to complete the picture.
Triple Whale, Northbeam, and Polar Analytics are excellent marketing attribution platforms — they are very good at telling you where your customers came from and what your channel-level ROAS looks like.
CMOgpt operates at a different level. It is a Prescriptive Analytics platform, not an attribution platform. Rather than focusing on channel performance, CMOgpt maps your entire profit structure and gives you specific decisions: what is hurting your contribution margin, whether your repeat rate is healthy for your segment, whether your CAC is rising faster than your AOV can justify.
Think of attribution tools as answering "which channel is working?" — CMOgpt answers "what is driving or draining your profit, and what should you do about it?" Many CMOgpt users run it alongside their attribution tool.
Most stores are live within 10–15 minutes. The setup has three steps: install CMOgpt from the Shopify App Store, sync your store history (CMOgpt imports 90 days of history on the Free plan, 6 months on Grow, and 12 months on Scale), and optionally connect GA4 to add web traffic data. Your Profit Builder is built automatically from your real data.
Yes — CMOgpt was built specifically for this situation. Most of CMOgpt's users are founders running lean, without the budget for a full-time CMO or agency retainer. The Profit Builder gives you a structured, professional view of your commercial performance without needing to understand data science or analytics. The AI advice is written in plain language, grounded in your specific numbers, and focused on decisions you can actually make.
If you do work with an agency or a growth partner, the Scale plan lets you share your CMOgpt workspace with them so they can work from the same profit picture you see.
