Growth & Community Lead
The Role
This is a distribution role, not a brand-building role. Your job is to drive downloads, trials, and signups — and to embed CMOgpt into the communities where Shopify operators, ecommerce founders, and fractional marketers already spend their time.
You won't be running paid ads or building a content calendar from scratch. You'll be doing the high-touch, high-signal work that actually moves the needle in the early stage: showing up in the right Slack groups, seeding conversations on LinkedIn, finding the right voices to put CMOgpt in front of, and turning the first 20 users into the next 100.
This suits someone who is already in the Shopify or ecommerce ecosystem — either as a practitioner, agency operator, or community member — and who understands what moves people in that world.
What You'll Own
Community Seeding & Distribution Identify and activate the channels where your target users are already congregating — Shopify-focused Slack communities, LinkedIn groups, DTC forums, ecommerce newsletters, Facebook groups, Reddit. Not broadcasting; participating. Starting conversations that naturally lead to CMOgpt.
Early User Activation Work closely with the PM to ensure new users hit their first "a-ha" moment — the insight that makes CMOgpt feel indispensable. Activation is as important as acquisition in this window.
Social Proof & Advocacy Turn early users into case studies, testimonials, and word-of-mouth advocates. One founder sharing a genuine insight from CMOgpt to their network is worth more than any ad campaign at this stage.
LinkedIn & Content Presence Create and publish content — primarily LinkedIn — that positions CMOgpt in the prescriptive analytics conversation for ecommerce. Think practitioner-level insight, not product promotion. The audience is founders and operators who are already thinking about MER, CAC payback, and contribution margin.
Feedback Loop to Product You're the closest to the community's language and pain points. Feed that signal back to the PM so the product stays anchored to what the market actually cares about.
